We are considering some factors to increase transport fares by 15% – GPRTU

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has disclosed they considering some factors at increasing transport fares by 15 per cent.

The Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU Alhaji Abass Imoro who made such pronouncement on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, June 25 indicated that, their outfits are waiting to reach a consensus with the Ministry of Transport before coming out the fare increment.

“We are looking at increasing the transport fares by 15 percent,” he said.

”We are waiting on the transport ministry so that we reach a consensus.”he stressed

Transport operators in the country have been whining and lamenting over the rising cost of petroleum products in the country.

The GPRTU further stated that the increase in fuel prices are slow pacing the benefit of businesses hence the decision to revisit the transport fares charges.
