VP Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Returns to Ghana After Medical Leave

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana, marking the end of several weeks of medical leave that saw her undergo both local and international care.

Her arrival brings relief and renewed energy to the Presidency, following a period of medical consultations and treatment. Professor Opoku-Agyemang initially sought care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where she underwent a series of evaluations. Based on medical advice, she later traveled abroad for further treatment.

Government sources have confirmed that the Vice President is in good health and is expected to gradually resume her official duties over the coming days.

A statement from the Office of the Vice President expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their support and well-wishes during her time away, noting, “Her Excellency is deeply thankful for the outpouring of prayers, messages, and solidarity from across the country. She looks forward to continuing her service to the nation with renewed strength.”

Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s return comes at a time when key national initiatives are gaining momentum, including reforms in the education and mining sectors—areas she has consistently championed.

Awake News will provide further updates on her public engagements in the coming weeks.
