The Volta Regional Youth Wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lauded the action of former President Mahama’s bodyguard on his fire attempt to stop Rev. Owusu Bempah from shaking hands with the former President.
“As a youth wing who cares for the security of our Leader and Flagbearer, we commend warmly and fully endorse the steps taken by the security detail to prevent physical contact between the hatred filled self-acclaimed man of God Owusu Bempah and our Former President.” – Mr. Mathias Alagbo, the Volta Regional Youth Organizer said in a statement copied Awake News
According to him, they can’t understand why the preacher who uses his pulpit to constantly insult the former president would want to shake hands with him in the public.
“We are baffled how Owusu Bempah who on several occasions openly displays his hatred/dislike for President Mahama through unprovoked insults, threats including fake prophesies of death of Former President Mahama, would have the impudence to attempt to shake hands with him in public.” – He said.
Mr. Alagbo has since “wish to remind the security details around our Leader and Flagbearer that it remains their utmost duty to at all times without fear or favour, act decisively and rootless if need be, to protect the dear life of President Mahama including preventing those who pose both physical and spiritual threats to his security like Owusu Bempah from gaining access to him.”
The Assemblies of God Church, South Odorkor in Accra today turns dramatic when the former President’s bodyguard succeded in presenting Rev. Owusu Bempah from shaking hands with the former President despite the former president’s attempt to accommodate the hands of the preacher who constantly uses his pulpit to launch personal attacks on him.

The Volta Regional Youth Wing of NDC has noted with great pleasure and relief, a decisive action taken by the bodyguard of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to prevent Owusu Bempah from gaining physical access to our Leader and Flagbearer during a church program.
In a short video clip making rounds on social media platforms, the bodyguard of H.E. President Mahama often referred to as Uncle James was seen dutifully and diligently directing Owusu Bempah away when he made efforts to establish physical contact with H.E. John Dramani Mahama by way of a supposed handshake.
As a youth wing who cares for the security of our Leader and Flagbearer, we commend warmly and fully endorse the steps taken by the security detail to prevent a physical contact between the hatred filled self-acclaimed man of God Owusu Bempah and our Former President.
