Volta Minister announces the first-ever 24-hour Volta Fair

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has announced that the Volta Fair 2025 will be run 24-hours, marking the first-ever 24-hour trade fair in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The Minister announced on his Facebook page that this year’s fair is more than an event but, “it’s a moment in history”

He also revealed that “On Friday, May 16, 2025, I had the honour of leading a team from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Ghana Tourism Authority, and Association of Ghana Industries -Volta, led by Mr. Dela Gadzanku, on a tour of selected sites under the Visit Volta initiative in preparation for the 2025 Volta Fair.”

“Our journey began at the serene Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, one of the region’s unique ecotourism destinations. From there, we continued to the picturesque town of Amedzofe, where I took on the challenge of climbing all 259 steps to experience the stunning canopy walkway.” – He added

According to him, “The tour was both enlightening and inspiring, reaffirming our commitment to positioning the Volta Region as a top tourism destination in Ghana.”

He noted that with collaborative efforts, the government is “confident that tourism will continue to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the region’s development.”

The Volta Fair was instituted 8years ago by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, in collaboration with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Eastern, Volta & Oti Chapter, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GIA).
