From October 4-12, 2025, Leklebi citizens, both at home and abroad, will be converging in the five (5) towns of Leklebi, namely, Duga (the capital), Fiafe, Dafor, Kame, and Agbesia, to display their rich culture and traditions at the 2025 Agbonuto Festival.
But beyond the celebrations and fun lies a great untapped investment and business potential of the area. Lying along the Ghana-Togo border to the East are green and serene communities in the Afadzato South District in the Volta Region, with tourism, agriculture, and agribusiness, vibrant but cheaper labor, timber, and water mineral resources.
Tourism
Leklebi Agbesia is endowed with one of the finest yet to be developed waterfalls in Ghana. The Aflabo waterfalls are about two (2) kilometers (thus about a 15-minute walk) from the Agbesia township. It is surrounded by green forest vegetation, friendly birds, along a well-naturally crafted mountain with amazing caves that give visitors unforgettable memories.
The location of the waterfall, with the Agbesia township lying below (flat land), gives a great opportunity for an investment in developing the waterfall with canopy walks and paragliding facilities. This also allows investment in hotel facilities.
Water minerals
The entire Leklebi five towns are with rich natural water bodies taking their roots from the mountain forest. Leklebi Kame has a clean, pure river serving as the boundary line between Ghana and Togo. These water bodies are free of any human contamination, hence opening an investment opportunity for a 24/7 mineral water production facility.
Agriculture and Agribusiness
The entire Leklebi towns have very fertile arable lands that are cultivated without the need for any form of fertilizer. Crops that grow well in the area include Avocado Pear, Coffee, Plantain, Banna, Cocoa, Cocoyam, Yam, Cola nut, Palm, Maize, Cassava, Orange, Guinea Apple, Mango, among other tropical fruits.
The cocoa industry in Leklebi is great, with visible buying companies with investment opportunities in the area of semi-processed cocoa production.
The temperature of the area is greatly favorable for livestock production (poultry, goat, sheep, grasscutter, rabbit). The area is also favorable for snail and mushroom farming.
The location of the Leklebi gives access to major markets like Hohoe, Ho, Kpando, Kpalime (Togo), and Accra, with the construction of the Eastern Corridor road and export.
Timber
Leklebi areas also host some of Ghana’s finest wood species, such as Odum, Mahogany, Wawa, Sapele, etc.
Conclusion
Leklebi is just about a 15-minute drive from the Golokuati (along the Eastern corridor road to Hohoe), the Afadzato South District capital. Duga hosts the Leklebi Senior High School and a Clinic. Its area is about a 30-minute drive from Mt. Afadzato
