The Vice-President of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has donated essential items to support Muslim communities in Cape Coast during this year’s Ramadan.

The donation includes bags of rice, sugar, bottled water, canned milk, and drinks, among other things, worth thousands of cedis on Saturday.

The gesture was done on behalf of Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North Constituency, along with his team.

In a Facebook post by the Veep, she asked for Allah’s peace, strength, and renewed faith as they observe the period.

“During this month of reflection, sacrifice, and compassion, may Allah grant everyone peace, strength, and renewed faith,” she stated.

“I was pleased to support the sacred period with a donation of essential items, presented on my behalf by Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North Constituency, along with his team, at the Cape Coast Central Mosque.”

“May this gesture bring comfort and ease as families continue their fast,” Veep posted.

In other related development, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also donated sanitary and hygiene supplies to the New Horizon Special School in Accra to support the welfare of pupils and staff.

The donation was made during the school’s annual Fun Day and Games, which brought together children with special needs, teachers, caregivers, and parents for a day of sporting activities and celebration.

The vice president said access to basic sanitary supplies is essential to the health and dignity of children, particularly in special learning environments.

“Access to basic sanitary supplies is not a luxury; it is essential to the health, dignity, and confidence of our children,” she said. “When we invest in their well-being, we strengthen their ability to learn and thrive,” she posted on her Facebook account.
