The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu has said that the demolition of the Ho Central Office of the opposition New Patriotic Party has nothing to do with the National Farmers’ Day celebration that will be hosted at the Ho Sports Stadium.
In a Faceboo post, the Minister indicated that the said demolished building does not belong to the NPP and was only rented by the party which no long occupy the space.
It is also important to clarify that the building does not belong to the NPP; they were only tenants, and the party no longer occupies or uses that space.
According to the Mr. Gunu, the said structure was part of “several unauthorized buildings removed by the Ho Municipal Assembly aimed at clearing unauthorized developments with the Oxygen City to ensure orderly development, enhance urbanization sanitation and maintain aesthetic standard of Ho”

The Minister was responding to a post made yesterday by an NPP affiliated page, Ghana Today which is noted for publication of fake news posted that:
Ho Central NPP party office demolished to pave way for the parking of the presidential convoy for 2025 Farmers Day celebrations in Ho.

Farmers’ Day is a national holiday in Ghana that celebrates farmers and fishermen on the first Friday of December. The 41st annual National Farmers’ Day celebration will be held in Ho, Volta Region from December 1st to December 5th, 2025, with the theme “Eat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future”. The celebration includes an awards ceremony for outstanding farmers and fishermen, an agricultural fair, and other regional and cultural activities
