Unhealthy Lifestyles Fuel Rising Hypertension Cases — Dr. Kelvin Kwarteng

A health expert, Dr. Kelvin Kwarteng, has sounded the alarm over the growing cases of hypertension, linking the surge to unhealthy lifestyle choices among the population.

Speaking on the worrying trend, Dr. Kwarteng identified poor eating habits, physical inactivity, and other harmful routines as key drivers behind the increasing prevalence of high blood pressure.

He cautioned that hypertension remains a silent but dangerous condition, often going undetected until it leads to serious complications, including heart disease and stroke.

Dr. Kwarteng stressed the need for urgent public education and behavioral change, urging individuals to adopt healthier diets, engage in regular physical activity, and prioritize routine medical check-ups.

He further called for a collective effort involving both individuals and public health institutions to address the growing burden of hypertension in the country.
