The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) has conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Ibrahim Mahama, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering, infrastructure development, and national progress.
The honour was bestowed at the university’s 18th Special Congregation Ceremony held in Tarkwa, where university authorities cited Mr. Mahama’s transformative role in Ghana’s construction and mining support services, as well as his sustained investment in human capital development and job creation.
In his citation, UMaT acknowledged Mr. Mahama’s commitment to local content, industrial growth, and skills transfer, noting that his work continues to create opportunities for young engineers and technical professionals across the country.
The ceremony was attended by members of the university council, management, faculty, traditional authorities, students, and invited guests from government and industry.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Mahama expressed gratitude to the university for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education, innovation, and Ghana’s broader development agenda.
