Ukraine has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Ghana for consistently supporting United Nations resolutions that condemn Russia’s invasion.
During a recent phone conversation, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, commended Ghana’s stance while speaking with Prosper Douglas Kweku Bani, Ghana’s National Security Advisor. Ihor Brusylo, Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, also joined the discussion.
Yermak described Ghana as a key partner in West Africa and welcomed the growing relationship between the two countries, especially following the opening of Ukraine’s embassy in Ghana.
He also reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to peace, despite ongoing attacks by Russia, highlighting a tragic missile strike in Kryvyi Rih that claimed 20 lives, including nine children.
The call touched on several areas of future cooperation, including agriculture, food security, education, transport, and digital transformation.
Yermak also noted Ukraine’s continued efforts to support global food stability through its “Grain from Ukraine” initiative.
Both sides agreed to expand their partnership in meaningful ways, reinforcing Ukraine’s ongoing outreach to African nations in support of peace and rebuilding.
