A 10-member delegation from the United States Air War College has paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Defence as part of an international study tour to Ghana.
The delegation, led by Colonel Amanda Watkins, said the visit formed part of a strategic academic engagement aimed at deepening their professional understanding of military operations, operational challenges and international security cooperation.
On behalf of the Acting Minister for Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Director of Army Liaison at the Ministry, Colonel Yaw Owusu Appah, together with other Directors, received the delegation.
Colonel Appah briefed the team on Ghana’s security architecture and ongoing military operations. He highlighted collaborations with partner countries in areas such as intelligence gathering, monitoring and surveillance, and broader security strategies.
He also outlined some of the operational challenges encountered by the military and measures adopted to prevent the escalation of potential threats.
The engagement provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange professional insights and experiences, underscoring the importance of shared knowledge and cooperation in addressing the complexities of modern international security.
