Traditional priestess arrested over 10 years boy ritual murder in Kasoa

A traditional priestess who is alleged to be involved in the ritual murder of a ten-year-old boy in Kasoa, Central Region has been arrested. 

She was arrested at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region by a team of police officers to assist investigations, her details are yet to be made public. The police have indicated that the case docket has been handed to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.

On 3rd April 2021, it was reported that two teenagers Nicholas Kini and Felix Nyarko murdered a 10 year old boy for “Juju” money at Lamptey Mills a suburb in Kasoa. They were later arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command for the murder. The deceased, Ishmael Mensah was lured by his colleagues to play with them in an uncompleted building but unknown to him he was smashed in the head with a club and cement blocks killing him instantly and subsequently buried in the building. They planned to retrieve the body at midnight for the supposed rituals.

The two suspects were remanded to Police custody on their first appearance in court on April 6, 2021.

They are to reappear in court on April 20, 2021.
