Nana Kumasah Krampah II, Omankrado of Gomoa Asempayin, and Divisional Omankrado has emphasized the importance of sustainable green energy in today’s world. With the significant growth in renewables and the milestone of renewables surpassing coal for the first time globally, it’s clear that the future of energy lies in green technologies.

According to Nana Kumasah Krampah II, investing in green energy is not just a moral imperative but an economic necessity. He made the disclosure during his tour to the Netherlands, Portugal and Germany, and in an interaction with prominent stakeholders within the sector.

The year 2025 has seen record solar growth, integration of new technologies like AI and EVs, and evolving investment landscapes. Nana Kumasah Krampah II, who doubles as the Amankrakuahen of Gomoa Assin traditional council believes that this trend is a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done to ensure a sustainable future.

He advocates for increased investment in green energy projects and the adoption of sustainable practices that reduce carbon emissions across the capital as well as the villages.

“One of the key challenges facing the adoption of green energy is the high initial investment costs and limited access to credit, particularly in developing regions. Governments and international institutions can play a crucial role in promoting green energy by providing incentives and support for sustainable projects especially in agriculture”.

Nana Kumasah Krampah II emphasizes that investing in green energy can provide a competitive advantage in the global economy, drive technological innovation, and protect economies from climate-related risks.

“The benefits of green energy extend beyond reducing carbon emissions. It can also create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and improve energy security”. He said.
