Accra, Aug. 5, GNA – The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has refuted allegations by a social media personality that the sector minister, Madam Ablah Dzifa Gomashie, is disrespectful and unprofessional.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Ministry described the claims as false, misleading, and a calculated attempt to tarnish her reputation and that of the Ministry.
It said the assertions were “entirely baseless and a mis-characterisation of her longstanding service and commitment to the development of Ghana’s cultural and creative sectors.”
“The Minister has consistently demonstrated humility, dedication, and tireless service in promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
“Her engagements with stakeholders, industry players, and the public are always grounded in mutual respect, openness, and professionalism,” the statement noted.
The Ministry expressed concern over what it termed a growing trend of online sensationalism, urging the public to remain vigilant and to dissociate from individuals and content creators who prioritise attention-seeking over truth and public interest.
“The regrettable attempt to damage the Minister’s image not only undermines her integrity but also disrespects the hard work of the Ministry’s staff and all who serve in Ghana’s creative arts sector with pride,” it added.
The Directors of the Ministry demanded an unqualified apology from the individual behind the claims, stressing the need to uphold accountability and truth in public discourse.
“We remain committed to transparency and welcome constructive dialogue, but we will not tolerate falsehoods that seek to divide and distract,” the statement said.
The Ministry called on Ghanaians to reject misinformation and continue supporting its mission to preserve, celebrate, and elevate Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts.
