The Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, has led a high-powered delegation of Chinese investors to the proposed Keta Harbour site in a strategic move aimed at unlocking major industrial and infrastructure investments for the Volta Region.
The visit formed part of exploratory engagements to assess the viability of establishing an ultramodern oil refinery in Keta, alongside broader investments in the petrochemical industry, leveraging the hydrocarbon potential of the Keta and Volta Basins.
The delegation was warmly received by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the Member of Parliament for Anlo, Hon. Dzidzorle Gakpe, and key traditional authorities, including Togbe Tenge Dzokoto Glijui VII, Paramount Chief of Amugo Wego and Dufia of Anyako, as well as the Paramount Chief of Anlo-Afiadenyigba.
Addressing stakeholders, including youth leaders and community representatives, Togbe Afede XIV reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to partnering with government, traditional authorities, investors, and the youth to accelerate national development and create sustainable employment opportunities.
He emphasized that meaningful development is anchored on unity, a shared vision, and strong collaboration, stressing his resolve to champion strategic partnerships and transformative projects that will drive economic growth across the Volta Region.
According to him, the proposed initiatives are not only intended to expand critical infrastructure but also to promote community empowerment, industrial growth, and long-term prosperity for the people of the region.
Togbe Afede expressed confidence that sustained cooperation among all stakeholders would significantly improve living standards and enhance socio-economic well-being in the Volta Region and Ghana at large.
He further echoed a call by Togbe Tenge Dzokoto Glijui VII, urging the youth to embrace discipline, skills acquisition, and capacity building to position themselves to fully benefit from the opportunities expected to arise from the proposed projects.
