The Ketu North Municipal Assembly has confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection with the alleged theft of food items intended for students of Wovenu Senior High Technical School (SHTS).
In an official statement signed by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Rev. Martin Amenaki, the suspects have been identified as Bernard Amegbor, a police officer; Doris Foli, an Assistant Matron at the school; and Perfect Foli.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended by vigilant community members while allegedly transporting assorted food items believed to have been taken from the school’s stores. The intercepted items reportedly included cartons of milk, mackerel, bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil (Frytol), and other food provisions meant for student consumption.
The Municipal Assembly disclosed that the suspects have since been handed over to the police and are currently in custody assisting with investigations.
Rev. Amenaki assured the public that the Assembly is treating the matter with utmost seriousness and has pledged that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure accountability.
He further noted that the Assembly remains committed to safeguarding resources meant for students and warned that any individual found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.
The Assembly indicated that further updates will be communicated to the public as investigations continue.
