This budget offers no concrete plans for economic recovery – Amin Adam slams Ato Forson

Mohammed Amin Adam, former Finance Minister and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, has accused Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson of presenting misleading economic data in the 2025 Budget Statement.

During an interview on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Amin Adam pointed out discrepancies between Forson’s claims and the figures in the official budget booklet.

Specifically, Forson stated that government expenditure would reach 27% of GDP by the end of 2024, while the budget document indicated 23.7%.

Amin Adam criticized the budget for lacking concrete solutions to Ghana’s economic crisis, calling it deceptive and insufficient to address the country’s financial challenges.

His comments have raised concerns about the transparency and effectiveness of the proposed budget, fueling doubts regarding its potential to stabilize Ghana’s economy.
