Senior Communications Manager of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has defended the decision of the association to make four new additions to the technical team of the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

According to him, it was prudent because it will help the team achieve their objectives as the team prepares for their fifth Mundial in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, respectively.
The new additions are Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren and Alain Ravera as assistant coaches, while José Daniel Martínez Alfonso has joined as a scout and video analyst.
The rest are Carlos Lozano Romero as team physiotherapist and Dwanye Peasah Paa Kwesi as performance coach.
He stressed that the goal is to make an impact at the tournament and reach their goals.
“Our goal at the World Cup is to make an impact, and we can only achieve that with the best expertise guiding us. We believe these coaches will take us where we want to be,” he stated.
However, Coach Otto Addo and his lads will regroup in March for the international games against Australia and Germany as part of their preparations for the World Cup.
The Black Stars have been paired against England, Panama, and Croatia in Group I.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before playing England on June 23 and the final group game against Croatia on June 27, 2026.
