There’s power struggle between Mahama, Asiedu Nketiah – Anyidoho alleges

Koku Anyidoho, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Atta-Mills Institute, has alleged that there is friction between some high-ranking members of the party.

According to the expelled NDC stalwart, the party’s Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and the flagbearer, John Mahama, are at loggerheads over who makes the final decisions in the party.

He cited the differing views shared by these two individuals on the party’s stance regarding the signing of the peace pact.

Mr. Nketia, in a recent JoyNews interview, disclosed that his party would not sign any peace pacts ahead of the December 7 polls if the concerns previously raised by the NDC were not addressed.

However, in response to his statement, the party’s flagbearer clarified that Nketia’s comment was not the party’s official position and that the party leadership had yet to discuss the issue and reach a conclusion.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Anyidoho wrote, “When the National [Chairman] of NDC spits in the face of the Peace Council and the Flagbearer counters him on an open political platform, & the [Chairman] organizes people to hoot [at] the peace council, it [should] tell [you] there is a serious power struggle.”
