Today, I delivered my First Sessional Address – not as a formality, but as a firm step toward renewing the soul of our city.
Tema is on a transformative journey to become a 24-hour sustainable city at the Centre of the World. Together, we are laying the foundation for growth, order, and prosperity.
We’re cleaning Tema – not just physically, but systemically.
- Sanitation is priority one: continuous street sweeping, waste reforms, and registration of all Aboboyaa operators.
- Our roads are being repaired – from Harbour Road to Kpone.
- 3,000 LED solar streetlights are being installed across all 21 electoral areas so Tema can move day and night.
- We’re fixing our finances and recovering every stolen asset.
- Comprehensive revenue audits and full digitization to end leakages.
- An asset recovery taskforce to reclaim TMA properties for the people.
- We’re building again – boldly and beautifully.
- Redeveloping Tema Stadium into a 12,000-seat modern arena.
- Transforming the Golden Jubilee Youth Centre into a Digital Innovation Hub.
- Upgrading public health facilities and constructing a new isolation unit at Manhean Polyclinic.
- Supporting 1,000+ youth-led MSMEs with training, registration, and access to finance.
- Reviving the Meridian Enclave into a modern civic, tourism, and business destination with a 5-star hotel and public green spaces.
And yes, Tema will lead Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy.
Jobs. Opportunity. Growth. Round the clock.
But I cannot do this alone.
