Stephen Ayensu Ntim, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is taking a break from all party duties due to serious health concerns. His family announced in a formal letter to the party’s Council of Elders dated June 16, 2025.

Citing “cognitive dissonance and mental incapacitation,” the family described his current condition as medically unfit for political activity. They insisted that Mr. Ntim’s participation in a high-level party meeting scheduled for June 17 at Alisa Hotel would pose serious risks to his health and violate his right to rest and recovery.

Signed by key relatives, including Adelaide Ntim (MP) and Kingsley Oteng (Family Head), the letter called on party leadership to prioritise his well-being and grant him a complete break from intra-party functions.

The family also highlighted Mr. Ntim’s long-standing dedication to the party, tracing his service from his tenure as First National Deputy Chairman to his current leadership role.

“It’s in his best interest that he be temporarily excused from the rigours of active politics to focus on medical treatment and healing,” the letter stated.
