The Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, has inspected newly installed surgical equipment valued at over GHS 500,000 at the South Tongu District Hospital in Dabala.
The equipment, procured through the MP’s efforts, is expected to enhance surgical services at the facility and reduce referrals to hospitals outside the district.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Lukutor said the intervention forms part of measures to improve access to quality healthcare for residents.
“Equipping the district hospital with modern tools will reduce referrals and ensure timely medical interventions,” he stated.
Health officials at the facility indicated that the equipment would strengthen the hospital’s capacity to handle a broader range of cases locally, thereby improving service delivery.
In a related development, the MP donated office chairs and a 3-in-1 printer to the Dabala District Court following concerns about inadequate logistics affecting its operations.
Mr. Lukutor noted that the support was aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring the smooth functioning of the court.
He added that the initiatives align with efforts to strengthen key public institutions and improve essential services across the South Tongu Constituency.
