South Tongu MP hands over renovated Fire Service Office, inspects ambulance facility

The Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, has officially handed over a newly renovated office facility to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the South Tongu Municipality, as part of efforts to strengthen emergency response and public safety in the area.

Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony on Monday morning, Hon. Lukutor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the operations of security and emergency service institutions within the constituency. He encouraged the Fire Service command to engage his office whenever challenges arise that affect their work, explaining the operational procedures of his office and how support can be accessed when needed.

The South Tongu MP urged officers of the Fire Service to remain disciplined, professional and committed to duty, stressing that their role is critical to the protection of lives and property across communities in the municipality.

After the ceremony, Hon. Lukutor proceeded to Dabala Junction, where he inspected a newly allocated office space for the National Ambulance Service (NAS). The officer in charge expressed appreciation to the MP for the intervention and appealed for further support to renovate the facility and construct a shed to protect the ambulance vehicle from harsh weather conditions.

Hon. Lukutor expressed satisfaction that the Ambulance Service can now operate from its own office instead of sharing space with the Fire Service, describing the development as a significant step towards improving emergency healthcare delivery in South Tongu. He reiterated his readiness to support initiatives that enhance the welfare and efficiency of emergency service personnel.

The interventions form part of the MP’s broader agenda to improve public service delivery and strengthen emergency response systems in the South Tongu Constituency.
