Sissamba Empire Wins Homowo Cup

Sissamba Empire Football team on Sunday were declared winners of the 2021 Sarpeiman Homowo Football Cup which was held at the Sarpeiman Park in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region.

The 2021 annual Sapeiman Homowo cup was organised by Noryaa Benovolent Foundation and was aimed at ensuring unity and peace among the
GaDangmes especially natives of Sapeiman.

The Sissamba Empire team beat their counterparts, Arrows of Sarpeiman by 2 goals to 1 to win the trophy.

Few minutes after the kickoff, Sissamba Empire team piled pressure on their opponents and was therefore not surprising when they snatched the lead in the 25th minute of the game.

Both teams resumed the second session with greater determination but Sissamba team who were slightly on top, scored their second goal in the 50th minute.

Arrows of Sarpeiman threw their all into the dying embers of the game and got the consolation goal to make it 2-1 in favour of the Sissamba team.

The Chief Executive Officer of Noryaa Benovolent Foundation who doubles as the Development Chief of Sapeiman, Nii Abbey Okanfrah I, said they intend to spread their tentacles in the coming years to rope in more communities.

“We are happy and will describe proceedings as a success. It’s been challenging but I think my Chiefs and the Traditional Authorities helped in executing the job decently.

Nii Abbey Okanfrah I revealed that the Noryaa Benevolent Foundation in the subsequent years, will expand its wings to cover other sporting disciplines to make the celebrations attractive.

He said it has been a very exciting and joyous moment for the foundation to organized such a wonderful event.

The Sarpeima 2021 Homowo Football Cup was witnessed by a host of dignitaries which includes the Chief of Sarpeiman, Nii Sarpei Agbetekor III, Nii Abbey Okanfrah I, the Akwashong, Nii Odiasempa, Moshie Chief of Fanteakwa District, Alhaji Mohammed.

Other dignitaries include, the Zongo Chief of Manhean, Sarki Abdul Kadir Ahmed Abdul Kadir, Head of Nii Lomo Tetteh Family of Sarpeiman, Samuel Otokwa Lomo, Secretary of Sarpeiman Traditional Authority, Clinton Elvis Cudjoe and among other personalities.
