Shatta Wale urges youth to support Mahama’s government

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has called on the country’s youth to rally behind the current government, led by President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking during a performance at the President’s Cup held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, July 6, the musician expressed strong support for the administration, stating that its policies and programs are geared toward improving the financial well-being of young people.

“From now till the next election, support this government,” Shatta Wale said. “If you are a youth and you want to see money in your pocket, then support this government because it has come to put money in your pocket.”

The artist, who is also a businessman, used the occasion to encourage the youth to trust the government’s vision and seize the opportunities it presents.

In a follow-up Facebook post, Shatta Wale shared a message of appreciation to President Mahama. “The man who rewards your hard work with a smile and can also terminate your contract if you don’t deliver. Good evening Mr. President. We’re grateful for your commitment to empowering the youth and making us part of your vision,” he wrote.

The message comes at a time when the Mahama administration is promoting initiatives aimed at youth development and job creation under its 24-hour economy agenda.
