Dancehall star Shatta Wale has pushed back against claims that he has abandoned his mother, stating that he has provided her with cars and a comfortable home, even if he chooses not to broadcast it online.

Speaking during a live podcast on Saturday, May 24, the artiste, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, addressed the criticism head-on.

“That mother you keep talking about, I’ve bought her cars, I’ve done things for her,” he said. “It’s just that not everything in life needs to go on the internet. You win some, you lose some.”

Shatta Wale noted that while some critics are quick to accuse him of neglect, those close to him are aware of his continued support for his mother.

“The beautiful places I’ve secured for my mother to rest her head, you people don’t know about them. But those who know, know,” he emphasized.

His remarks come after a recent online exchange with content creator Kwadwo Sheldon. Following flooding at Sheldon’s home in Pantang, Shatta Wale offered assistance, which was declined. Instead, Sheldon suggested Wale redirect his help to his mother, implying she had been neglected.

Shatta Wale dismissed that claim, saying he chooses to keep his family matters private and doesn’t need online validation.
