Popular Ghanaian comic actor Wayoosi says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win the next election if top guns like Aseidu Nketiah and Julius Debrah decide not to contest, arguing that Sammy Gyamfi will be a perfect fit for the party to win the 2028 general elections.
According to him, there is no cause for alarm because whoever emerges from the opposition parties will never be a threat to the NDC.
Speaking in an interview with Nafdaff TV, the staunch NDC supporter highlighted the good works under the current NDC administration are evident; this is a statement that they can retain power if the eight years are up.
“If no one shows up, no Aseidu Nketiah, Chief of Staff; Julius Debrah; and other top executives and they avail Sammy Gyamfi, he will win the election with ease. Whoever shows up will not be a threat to the NDC,” he stated.
Adding that “When the eight years are up, the NDC will still win power. They will win the 2028 elections convincingly.”
Wayoosi, who used to be a New Patriotic Party (NPP) fanatic, revealed what transpired him to switch from the NPP to the NDC.
He stressed that, at a point where all hope was lost during his kidney condition in 2016, President Mahama came and was there to support, though he was heavily involved in all activities and campaigns of the NPP.
“When you intend to do something, you always have a reason. We all know my kidney condition in 2016 at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. My party back then was the NPP, and I was actively involved in their activities and campaigns. It was Mahama who came through to support me,” he emphasized.
Explaining further, Wayoosi mentioned that he was promised that Dr. Bawumia would visit him, but it did not happen.
