The Management of Ghana Premier League side, FC Samartex 1996 have announced the temporal suspension of Assistant Coach and Youth Team Coach, Eric Bekoe
According to a statement issued by the management, the decision to relieve him of his role was due to insubordination and breach of the ethic guiding mementos of the FC Samartex 1996 technical team.
“He has been subsequently been referred to the club’s disciplinary committee for hearing”.
“The public shall be updated on the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings”, the statement added.
Bekoe, who carved his name into Ghanaian football history with his goal-scoring exploits, served in a dual role: Head of the Samartex Youth Team and Strikers Coach for the senior men’s side after his appointment on October 1, 2025.
The former Kotoko star, fondly remembered for finishing as the Ghana Premier League’s top scorer in the 2007/08 season, also enjoyed spells abroad with Petrojet in Egypt and Berekum Chelsea in the Ghanaian topflight.
Bekoe represented the Black Stars during his peak years and is widely regarded as one of the most clinical strikers of his generation.
