Sam George accused of ‘hacking’ Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah show

In a shocking turn of events, the popular For The Records show hosted by Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah was abruptly taken off the air, sparking widespread outrage among netizens.

According to sources, the Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, allegedly issued a directive to the newly appointed NCA Director General, Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, to halt the show’s broadcast.

The For The Records show, known for its hard-hitting discussions on topical issues, had been airing live on Facebook and YouTube.

However, approximately 45 minutes into the show on Monday evening, viewers were unable to access the live stream on both platforms.

It was later revealed that the Minister for Communications allegedly instructed the NCA to take the show off the air.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Sam George had warned the acting NCA DG, Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, to take the show off the air or risk losing his job.

The timing of the show’s disruption has raised eyebrows, as it coincided with discussions on sensitive topics, including drug addiction and the unfair treatment of some Ghanaians by the Mahama administration.

However, Netizens took to social media to express their outrage, accusing Sam George of censorship and attempting to silence critical voices.

The incident has sparked concerns about press freedom and the government’s willingness to stifle dissenting voices.

Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah’s For The Records show, which began a month ago, has been a thorn in the flesh of the John Mahama administration, consistently exposing corruption and malfeasance.

The show’s abrupt removal from the airwaves has only served to fuel speculations about the government’s motives.

Sam George Defence

However, Sam George, in reaction in a post on his Facebook page, said, “A certain Sam George seems to be more powerful than even he knows”.

“Even when they constipate, they blame Sam George. The pain of defeat has clouded even logical minds to believe that I lose sleep over someone’s attempt to be relevant”

“I am focused on delivering a digitally inclusive and functional ecosystem for the people of Ghana. By the time you realize, we have reduced 38% to 14.5%. For God and Country,” he added.
