Robbery Suspect Apologises After Arrest Over GH¢200,000 Heist

One of the suspects arrested in connection with a robbery attack at Malta, a suburb of Asankrangwa in the Amenfi West Municipality, has expressed remorse, pledging to abandon criminal activities.
The suspect, believed to be part of a five-member gang, was allegedly involved in an incident in which workers of a Chinese heavy-duty machinery company were held hostage and robbed of an amount of GH¢200,000.
Speaking after his arrest, the suspect apologised for his actions, stating, “I am sorry. I won’t steal again.”
Security sources indicate that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the stolen money.
The incident has raised concerns among residents and businesses in the area, with calls for increased security presence to curb criminal activities.
Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and bringing all perpetrators to justice.
