Real estate developer Rehoboth Estate has firmly denied recent allegations of power theft at its Social Housing project in Kweiman, Accra. The company says the reports are “misleading, exaggerated, and damaging” to its reputation.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 23, management clarified that Rehoboth does not directly handle electrical installations. Instead, it hires third-party contractors, each responsible for connecting their properties to the national grid.

Rehoboth also distanced itself from a block factory named in the reports, stating the facility is independently owned and applies directly to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for its connection.

The estate emphasized its private investment of over GHS 60 million in electrification infrastructure. This includes the installation of poles, wiring, and a transformer, executed without government support and in full compliance with ECG standards.

Addressing reports of illegal connections, Rehoboth noted that the scale of the issue has been “grossly misrepresented.” It also highlighted challenges with ECG meter supply, stating that full payments were made in 2023, but installations remain pending due to nationwide shortages.
