The former President, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings, will on Saturday grace the annual anniversary celebration of the Ga West and North Council of Zango Chiefs.
This came to light when the Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Hamidu Kabore led the Council to pay a courtesy call on the former President at [ads1]this residence in Accra, to officially invite him to the council’s annual anniversary celebration slotted for Saturday, September 29th, at Amasaman park a suburb of Accra.
The Public Relations Officer of the Council, Sarki Abdul Kadiri Ahmed Abdul Kadiri, revealed that the reason to invite the former President was due to his selfless leadership, love for humanity by treating all fairly irrespective of one’s background and passion for development for the nation.
He added that the former president love and role he played to empower the people within the Zango communities is overwhelming hence the need to invite him to the annual anniversary.
According to him, the council have no difficulties in arriving at the decision to invite the former president to the occasion, adding that the warm reception accorded to them during the council’s visit to the former president demonstrated the love he has for the people of Zango.
The Council he said believed that the presence of the former President at the anniversary would form part of their aim at uniting and bringing peace within the Zango communities and the area they rule as Chiefs.
