Prophet Oduro criticizes Ghana’s security lapses

General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has aimed at Ghana’s security institutions, calling them “flawed” in the wake of the FBI’s arrest of several Ghanaians allegedly involved in large-scale fraud.

Delivering a sermon to his congregation on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Prophet Oduro questioned how foreign security forces could conduct arrests on Ghanaian soil while the country’s systems failed to act.

“You’re in Ghana, yet your system is so flawed that the FBI can come in and arrest criminals, but you can’t, and yet, you stand there and make noise,” he stated.

He also cited the case of Ghanaian-born U.S. Army Major Kojo Dartey, who was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for illegally smuggling firearms into Ghana. According to Prophet Oduro, the fact that Ghanaian authorities didn’t detect the operation for four years is a damning indictment of the country’s law enforcement.

“There’s a Ghanaian who became a U.S. Army Major and smuggled guns into this country for four years, right under your noses. Ghanaian officials saw it but looked away. It took American authorities to arrest him,” he added.

His comments come in the wake of the FBI’s arrest of several Ghanaians accused of running a $100 million fraud scheme. Those arrested include Kofi Boateng (aka Kofi Boat), Joseph Boateng (Dada Joe Remix), Inusah Ahmed (aka Agony), and others.

According to Prophet Oduro, these incidents reflect deeper issues within Ghana’s justice and security institutions, issues that must be addressed if the country is to tackle corruption and financial crime effectively.
