Asante Kotoko interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu says he remains the right man to lead the Porcupine Warriors forward, despite suffering defeat in his first match in charge against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
The former Ghana international stepped into the role following the resignation of Karim Zito and was immediately handed one of the most daunting fixtures in Ghana football, a Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Sunday’s encounter saw Kotoko battle fiercely, but a first-half header from Baba Adamu proved decisive as the Phobians secured a hard-fought victory on home soil.
The result extended Kotoko’s winless run to three matches and dealt a significant blow to their already fading title aspirations.
Speaking to the media after the match, Owusu was certain about the implications of the defeat.
“Losing to Hearts of Oak makes it difficult for us to win the league,” he admitted.
But when asked whether he believes he is the right man to steer Kotoko through this challenging period, his response carried no hesitation.
“Yes, there’s no two ways about it,” Owusu stated firmly, signalling his determination to turn the team’s fortunes around.
Kotoko will play as guests to Young Apostles on Matchday 23 fixture at the Wenchi Sports Stadium.
For Owusu, their next game is unshaken, however results must follow.
