President Mahama swears in six Ministers of State

President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in six new Ministers of State, following their approval by Parliament.

The brief ceremony took place at the Jubilee House, the seat of Ghana’s presidency, where the President urged the appointees to diligently execute their duties and deliver on the administration’s commitments to the Ghanaian people.

The newly inducted ministers took the Oaths of Office, Secrecy, and Allegiance, administered by President Mahama himself.

In his remarks, the President expressed confidence in their capabilities and emphasized the importance of their contributions during the remaining seven months of his administration. He encouraged the ministers to work with urgency and dedication to address the nation’s pressing challenges.

The newly sworn-in Ministers include Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister for Finance; John Jinapor, Minister for Energy, Dr. Dominic Ayine and Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

Other Ministers include Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways; Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture and Haruna Iddrisu, Education Minister.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Mahama highlighted the critical role each minister would play in achieving the administration’s goals, particularly in the areas of economic management, infrastructure development, and social services.

“You have been entrusted with significant responsibilities at a pivotal time for our country. It is imperative that you bring your expertise and dedication to bear in addressing the expectations of Ghanaians,” President Mahama stated.
