President Mahama nominates 33 DCEs for Eastern Region

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 33 distinguished individuals to serve as District Chief Executives (DCEs) in the Eastern Region, in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

This announcement, made on April 29, 2025, underscores the President’s commitment to bolstering local governance and ensuring effective leadership at the district level.

The nominees, announced by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, hail from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of experience to their prospective roles. Notable among them are Kate Mawusi Babanawo, nominated for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Moses Tangmee for Kwahu Afram Plains South, and Ernest Owusu Ntim for Atiwa East.

These appointments are subject to approval by the respective District Assemblies, a crucial step in ensuring that the nominees are deemed suitable for the positions.
