President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm wishes to Muslims in Ghana and across the world as they commence the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message shared on his official social media platforms, the President greeted the Muslim faithful with the traditional Islamic salutation, “Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,” conveying peace, mercy, and blessings.
He also expressed heartfelt regards from himself and his family, urging Muslims to use the sacred period for reflection, prayer, and acts of compassion.
Ramadan, observed as a time of fasting, devotion, and spiritual renewal, is one of the most significant periods in the Islamic calendar. It encourages generosity, discipline, and unity among believers while promoting peaceful coexistence within society.
President Mahama noted the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community to Ghana’s national development and called for continued prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity for the country.
He further encouraged all Ghanaians, regardless of faith, to embrace the values of tolerance, charity, and solidarity that Ramadan represents.
The message forms part of the President’s annual tradition of recognising major religious observances and reaffirming the importance of interfaith harmony in Ghana’s democratic and multicultural society.
