President Mahama Engages Bono Residents on “Resetting Ghana” Tour

President John Dramani Mahama has engaged residents of the Bono Region as part of his ongoing “Resetting Ghana” tour, outlining key policy directions, ongoing development projects, and the government’s commitment to accountability and inclusive growth.

Addressing a cross-section of stakeholders, the president expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his team, stating that the tour formed part of a deliberate effort to report back to citizens and assess progress on critical national interventions.

He highlighted a number of ongoing infrastructure projects in the region, including the Jinijini–Sampa Road and GETFund-supported developments at Sunyani Senior High School, as well as the rollout of 24-hour economy markets across districts to boost local economic activity.

President Mahama also underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening development financing through increased allocations to key institutions such as the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and District Assemblies.

He commended the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, for his stewardship of the economy, noting that flagship initiatives under the government’s “Big Push” agenda were being funded through domestic resources.

Touching on youth empowerment, the president encouraged young people to embrace entrepreneurship and skills development, citing programs such as Adwumawura and the National Apprenticeship Program as avenues for job creation and economic participation.

He called for a collective national effort in building a resilient and inclusive economy, stressing that the government remained committed to policies that improve livelihoods and expand opportunities for all citizens.
