Police arrest 7 over Ashaiman robbery attack

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects in connection with a robbery incident at Sakasska Park and Dagomba Junction in Ashaiman, Greater Accra.

According to police, a group of individuals attacked victims with a weapon and made away with several items including an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, a backpack containing a Dell laptop and charger, a power bank, an Infinix Hot 40i, and cash.

Two suspects, Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey, were arrested at the scene with assistance from members of the public.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile who had in their possession the stolen backpack and laptop. Another suspect, Bernard Dzumador, and a second juvenile were later apprehended with the iPhone and Samsung phone taken during the robbery.

A statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Region, confirmed that all suspects are in custody assisting with investigations and will be arraigned before court.
