Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), has confirmed that he will appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) today, July 31, 2025, in response to an invitation regarding a corruption investigation.
On his current affairs programme Good Evening Ghana, the seasoned broadcaster announced:
“My lawyers and I will present ourselves to the OSP today, Thursday, July 31, at 3 pm for questioning.”
This follows a letter from the OSP dated July 25, officially identifying Adom-Otchere as a suspect in its ongoing probe into alleged corruption and corruption-related offences linked to a revenue assurance contract between GACL and a private firm.
Adom-Otchere expressed dissatisfaction with the OSP’s refusal to grant his legal team’s request for a rescheduled appearance date.
“The OSP rejected my lawyer’s request to appear on Monday, August 4th instead of today,” he said.
He also denied any wrongdoing, stating that he had no prior knowledge of the contract’s signing by GACL’s Managing Director until investigative journalist Manasseh Azure contacted him.
“I didn’t even know the Managing Director had signed the contract. The board was briefed in November 2024, and I only signed in January 2025,” he clarified.
The case has drawn significant attention due to its implications for transparency and accountability in public procurement and oversight within Ghana’s state-owned enterprises.
