Parliament to vet final batch of Deputy Minister nominees today

Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today, Friday, July 25, vet the final group of deputy ministerial nominees appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.

The nominations, made under Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, feature four sitting Members of Parliament selected to support various ministerial portfolios.

The nominees include:

  1. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro – Deputy Minister-designate for Transport
  2. James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs
  3. Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West – Deputy Minister-designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation
  4. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – Deputy Minister-designate for Health

The vetting follows their referral to the Appointments Committee by Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin on July 17. If approved, the nominees will assist their respective ministers in policy implementation and public service delivery.

This session marks the final round of deputy ministerial vettings under the current Mahama administration.
