Some parents and teachers in the Anloga District of the Volta Region on Monday staged a demonstration to register their grievances against the District Director of Education, Mr Dominic Yao Dzanado, over alleged administrative lapses.

The demonstrators said the action was to express concerns about what they described as mismanagement within the District Education Directorate, which they believe was negatively affecting teaching and learning outcomes in the area.

According to them, the situation, if not addressed, could compromise the academic progress and future prospects of students in the district.

The group further accused the District Director of alleged maltreatment of some teachers, violation of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Code of Conduct, abuse of authority, and what they termed as selective administration of justice in handling disciplinary and administrative matters.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, the demonstrators called on the Ghana Education Service and other relevant authorities to investigate the issues raised and take appropriate action.

They urged stakeholders in the education sector to intervene promptly to restore confidence and ensure effective management of schools in the district.

Efforts to reach Mr Dzanado for his response were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
