President Mahama to break ground for Oxygen City Housing Project in Ho – Minister

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has confirmed that President John Dramani Mahama will on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, cut the sod for the commencement of the Oxygen City Housing Project in Ho.

 

Describing the project as a transformative intervention, Hon. Gunu said the Oxygen City initiative is expected to redefine sustainable urban living in the regional capital and further demonstrates the government’s commitment to infrastructure development under President Mahama’s “Big Push” agenda.

According to the Regional Minister, the President’s visit to Ho for the groundbreaking ceremony underscores the strategic importance of the Volta Region in the government’s national development agenda, particularly in the areas of housing, urban planning and economic growth.

The Oxygen City Housing Project marks the second major development activity in the region within the week under Hon. Gunu’s leadership. Since his confirmation in January 2025, Hon. James Gunu has prioritised peace and security, strengthened coordination with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, and enhanced collaboration with development partners to advance President Mahama’s vision for the Volta Region.
