Over 4,000 NPP delegates to vote on party constitution amendments

More than 4,000 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are expected to convene at the party’s upcoming National Delegates Conference to vote on proposed constitutional amendments.

According to Joe Wise (Joseph Osei-Owusu), Chairman of the Planning Committee, over 50 constitutional provisions are being considered. These changes aim to strengthen internal party structures and improve operational efficiency.

“The agenda of this conference is to consider the proposed amendments to our constitution,” he stated.

He added that the motions had been shared across regional and constituency structures in a 64-page document, which will be broken down into votable motions at the conference.

This conference is seen as a turning point for the party following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Officials say the reforms are based on internal feedback and aim to make the NPP more transparent, responsive, and democratic ahead of 2028.
