The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso East, Baba Ali Yusif, says his message and strategy to employ ahead of the election is to establish strong contact with the people on the ground.
The electoral commission has fixed March 3, 2026, for the Ayawaso East parliamentary elections after both Baba Jamal of the NDC and Ali Yusif of the NPP filed their nominations on Wednesday.
Addressing the journalists after filing his nomination, Ali Yusif says it is very significant to create a strong bond of communication with the constituents, adding that it is his approach to be used to emerge victorious after the election.
“It is an election, and in an election you go in with your message and strategy and make sure you interact with the voters and get the victory at end of the day, and that is exactly what we are going to do on the grounds and make sure we get connected to the people on the grounds,” he said.
Ali Yusif mentioned that he wants the good people of Nima to see developmental projects under his leadership; having lived his entire life in Nima, he deserves their mandate.
“That is my area; I was born and grew up there, and my entire life has been in Nima, and Nima needs development, and that is exactly what we are going to do. Get the mandate, and we will bring the development to the good people of Ayawaso East,” he added.
The Constituency Secretary of the NPP was officially announced as the Parliamentary candidate of the party after extensive consultations by the National Executive Committee (NEC) with key stakeholders and a unanimous recommendation by the Candidate Search Committee, chaired by former General Secretary of the party, John Boadu.
He called on all members, supporters, and sympathizers of the NPP to rally solidly behind him, who represented the party’s best opportunity to secure victory in the forthcoming by-election.
The Director of Elections for the NPP, who joined Yusif Ali to file his nomination, also appealed to the good people of Ayawaso East to vote massively for Yusif Ali as their next Member of Parliament in order to help restore hope, effective representation, and prosperity to the constituency.
