The Ghana Football Association’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, says Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will name his Unity Cup squad this week.

Ghana will compete in a four-nation tournament in the United Kingdom later this month. The Black Stars will face long-time rivals Nigeria in the semi-finals on May 28 at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
The winner will progress to the final on May 31 to face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago. That match is set for 12:30 GMT.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Asante Twum confirmed that preparations are ongoing. He hinted at the inclusion of new players alongside the core squad.
“The technical team is working on the selection. There will be some fresh additions while maintaining the core,” he said.
He also noted that any local-based players picked will travel with the domestic contingent directly to London.
“By next week, the coach will announce the team. If we include local players, they will move with the local contingent straight to London,” he added.
Local media suggest that Asante Kotoko’s Andrews Ntim Manu and Kwame Opoku may feature in the squad. They could join Kamaradini Mamudu, Razak Simpson, and Ghana’s current number-one goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare.
