Mr. Martin Kpebu is reported to have been arrested and detained in undisclosed location by Office of the Special Prosecutor upon attending an invitation.
According to the story as first reported by TV3, the Legal Practitioner was arrested after honoring an invitation by the OSP. He is alleged to have obstructed an OSP officer, which led to his arrest.
The strong critic of the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyabeng, was then said to have been granted bail, which required him to provide documents showing a landed property in his name and one surety. His lawyers obtained the documents, only to return and find that he had been whisked away to an unknown location.
The private legal practitioner has called for the immediate resignation of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, accusing him of failing in his duties in relation to the high-profile case involving former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, Kpebu confirmed he had been invited by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) but emphasised that he was not under investigation. According to him, the OSP only sought clarification about comments he had made in support of the anti-corruption fight.
Mr. Kpebu also called the SP corrupt, a tag that Mr. Agyabeng appeared not happy with invited his colleague lawyer to provide evidence of corruption claim. A move many described the SP as being a judge in his own court.
