The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Ernest Darko Akore, a former Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Finance, wanted over his alleged involvement in the controversial GRA-SML revenue assurance deal.
According to an official notice released on July 16, Mr. Akore, aged 67, is being pursued for suspected corruption and related offenses linked to a contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML). The OSP noted he previously served as Chef de Cabinet at the Finance Ministry.
“Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts should contact the OSP via WhatsApp or call 0554494499 / 0554484488,” the statement urged.
The High Court – Criminal Division issued an arrest warrant (Suit No. CR/0397/2025) for his immediate capture.
Ofori-Atta also wanted
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has also been placed on the wanted list after failing to honor an invitation from the OSP.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced the update during a media briefing on June 2, emphasizing that accountability cannot be avoided due to illness, unless medically proven as incapacitating.
“INTERPOL has been contacted to assist in extraditing him. Prosecution will proceed, even in his absence if necessary,” Mr. Agyebeng stated.
