Organised Labour has today October 1, 2024 declared a nationwide strike effective October 10, 2024, following the government’s inability to met their demand of declaring a state of emergency concerning illegal mining, commonly known as ‘galamsey’.
In a statement signed by Joshua Ansah, Secretary General of the TUC, dated October 1, 2024 remarked “Following the expiration of our deadline, and the failure of the government to meet our demands on illegal mining, Organised Labour has decided to declare a nationwide strike with effect from October 10, 2024.”
