One person has been confirmed dead while 13 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Power House Road in Ho on Friday, December 19, 2025.

The tragic accident occurred in the afternoon and involved a Hyundai saloon car with registration number GE 1005Y and a Toyota Land Cruiser, CR 2318-25. The violent impact left both vehicles extensively damaged, with several occupants trapped in the wreckage.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly after receiving a distress call. A rescue team from the Ho Municipal Fire Station, led by ADO II Elorm Dorlvo, swiftly commenced operations to free the trapped victims.
According to the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, the rescue operation resulted in:
13 injured persons rescued and stabilized
All casualties transported to the Ho Teaching Hospital for urgent medical care
One fatality confirmed at the scene
One occupant escaped unhurt
After evacuating the victims, fire officers remained at the scene to clear debris and spilled fluids from the roadway to restore traffic flow and prevent further accidents along the busy stretch.
Medical personnel at the Ho Teaching Hospital are currently attending to the injured victims. Meanwhile, the exact cause of the accident has not yet been officially established.
The Ghana National Fire Service has once again appealed to motorists to exercise caution, particularly during the busy December period, to help reduce road traffic accidents.
